DSTP Make-up Testing is Thursday & Friday - please make sure your child is getting plenty of sleep and nutrition the night before the testing. CONGRATULATIONS!!! TEACHER OF THE YEAR has been awarded to Mrs. Wallace Blue 7 Science!!Parents and Teachers: The Fifer PTO needs your help! The PTO is sponsoring the next school dance on Friday March 19th, 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Our Theme is March Madness and we are planning to have a BASKETBALL "Shoot Around" Contest in the school Gym during the dance. We cannot do this with out your help! We need a minimum of 14 parents and teachers to chaperone this dance. Would you please consider helping out for 2 short hours? TEACHERS we need your experience with the students and DADS, what a great time to help out with our basketball contest. PTO is in need of a fundraising boost - and is not going to be able to support the school activities that it has in the past - please consider helping to make this dance a successful one. There will be a count of box tops turned in by team on FRIDAY, March 26th. They will receive a cash award to use for a party of their choice. Continue to bring your trimmed, current box tops in bundles of 50 to your PREP teacher. See who can beat the FALL WINNER: Gold 8
Home Access Center
parent sign-ups can be done during normal school hours. Parents must
report to the main office for directions. Science Olympiad will meet Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday after school until the end of March. Newspaper will meet every week on Tuesdays and Thursdays until 3 :30 PM or later as needed in Room #225. Iron Chef will meet Wednesday 3/24 and Thursday 3/25 picking teams for the competition recipes. The Fifer Chapter of the FCA - Fellowship of Christian Athletes - meets Thursday @ 7 am in the Library. You do not have to be an athlete to join in and have fun! Math Counts Competition has been rescheduled for Friday 3/19.
Attention Students & Staff......Back to
the battle of Blue verses Gold!
At the end of March, we will begin the next battle for Spirit Wars and the Spirit
Stick. We will highlight the SPCA with a towel collection.
Teams should collect old or new towels to be donated to the SPCA.
Due to the weather and high number of animals needing assistance over the
last several weeks, the Kent County SPCA is appealing to the public for
donations of towels and blankets. Teams with the most towels
by Thursday 3/4
at the end of the day will win extra points to go towards spirit week.
We will
also have a dollar dash with proceeds going to American Red Cross for
Haiti. The spirit wear for next week will be: Tuesday 3/23: Hat Day (no purchase necessary) Wednesday 3/24: Class Color Day Gold 6 - red Blue 6 - orange Gold 7 - yellow Blue 7 - green Gold 8 - grey Blue 8 - blue Thursday 3/25: Olympic Theme/USA Day Friday 3/26: Purple day -- Fifer will Celebrate ‘Purple Day’ for epilepsy awareness. Any donations are to be given to the Nurse, Mrs. Clark. The PTO is having a Spring Bulb Fundraiser to support the costs of student agenda books for next year. Checks are written to FMS-PTO and please add the student’s name to the memo section. The sale starts today 3/12 and runs until 3/24. All bulbs are only $6.00 each! Thank you for supporting your PTO.

FMS Drama Play
is scheduled for
Tuesday, March 30th!!
The yearbooks are on sale. The cost is now $27.00. Purchase one now at rooms 202, 233 and the library. The 2010 yearbooks will be 100% COLOR!! Athletics: Be advised that you MUST have a current physical dated after May 1, 2009 to be eligible for all Fifer Athletic Programs. Athletes are not permitted in the locker room without a coach present Cheerleading: Students interested in trying out for the CR High School squad should report to the try-outs on March 29, 30, & 31 at the high school in the gym from 4-6pm. Girls Soccer - Softball - Track - There will be practice on Thursday, 3/18 until 4:30 pm in Room 226 General Announcements: PLEASE check the lost and found in the Nurse's office if you are missing something!! Fifer School Store is open during all three lunches. It will be open on only Tuesday and Thursdays during the school year. Click here to see what they have available! The Bank at School Program has started! This is a program for students to start saving their money and to learn about how to handle their finances responsibly. Return the sign up form to Mrs. Price in the main office. Deposits are made every WEDNESDAY in the morning. Please bring your deposits to Mrs. Price before 9 am. This is a great way to start your very own savings account.
